Sewing Success tells the story of a Tribal woman crafting futures through tailoring ventures.

In Gowrinarayanapuram, a rural village in Andhra Pradesh, India, Manjula lives with her husband, a daily laborer, and their two daughters. The village, largely a Tribal colony, faces economic hardships, with many women struggling to support their families. To address these challenges, WATCH launched an Income Generation program to empower women through entrepreneurship.

Manjula, trained in tailoring by WATCH, took a loan to buy a sewing machine. With this machine, she began stitching clothes, earning money to support her family. This financial stability allowed her to enroll her daughters in school and college, securing their education.

Manjula proudly states, “I am happy to earn and run my family. The sewing machine is proving a boon for me as it is helping me achieve economic independence.” She has become a community role model, showcasing how entrepreneurship and support programs can transform lives and promote economic empowerment.
