Kerela cyclone relief in 2018 was done supported by Sign Of Hope Germany
In response to the 2018 cyclones in Kerala, WATCH NGO played a pivotal role in the relief and rehabilitation efforts. Collaborating with 18 volunteers and supported by Sign of Hope, Germany, the WATCH team provided essential relief materials to those affected by the floods. They distributed aid to approximately 500 families across various communities, ensuring they received food, safe drinking water, and crucial supplies.

Emergency Flood Relief for Tamil Nadu Following the Michaung Cyclone.
In December 2023, the Michaung Cyclone struck Sholinganallur-Chemmancherry, in Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, devastating thousands of lives, livelihoods, and homes. The disaster caused widespread flooding, submerging entire neighborhoods and leaving residents stranded without basic necessities. In response, WATCH (Women’s Association for Liberation Transformation and Community Health), supported by Sign of Hope, Germany, provided tailored relief materials to support victims and impoverished families affected by the cyclone.
Prevention of Child Marriage: A girl child aged only 15 years, belonging to a poor family was off to be married after Completion of her 10th standard. Our team got to know of the marriage plans through local level networking. Successfully, we prevented this child marriage with the active support of other stakeholders including local police. Thereafter, earnest and effective counseling of the parties let to the agreement to re-enroll the children on to studies and agreed not to opt for child marriage. At present, she is happily doing Intermediate with the support from WATCH. This is just one heartwarming story of such many lives. Our timely intervention does give back meaning to childhood.
